Neurodevelopmental Evaluations
(1-4 yrs old)

Neurodevelopmental evaluations use toys and developmentally appropriate materials to assess a young child’s cognitive skills, early academic skills, language, fine motor skills, play, adaptive behavior, attention, memory, and social-emotional functioning. This evaluation includes testing with the child (parents can be in the room if needed), interview with the parents, interview with other providers (such as a preschool teacher or Early Intervention provider), and completion of questionnaires. The purpose of this evaluation is to determine the child’s strengths and weaknesses. A comprehensive report will be written based on the child’s profile and specific recommendations will be provided for home and preschool (when appropriate). A diagnosis may be provided, if appropriate. Common diagnostic questions include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delay, Language Delay, Anxiety, and/or Attention difficulties. This evaluation is appropriate when a parent or provider is concerned about developmental, learning, attentional, behavioral, social, and/or emotional difficulties.
